Advantages

Because these aligners are made with transparent material, they are harder to detect when speaking and smiling. This makes clear aligners a great option for professionals or students who are looking for a less obvious way to achieve a straighter smile. 

Removable

Unlike wire braces, aligners can be removed at any time so you can eat and drink whatever you want, brush your teeth easily, and play sports. Because you can remove them whenever, clear aligners do not limit the things you can and cannot eat. Unfortunately, this may make it easier to lose them. 

Quicker

While wire braces take around 15-24 months on average, clear aligners often take 12-18 months to work. However, this does depend on the condition of your teeth and your faithfulness in wearing the aligners.

Disadvantages

Daily Wear

To avoid your teeth moving back to their original places, these aligners should be worn for at least 22 hours a day. This requires an extra amount of self-discipline and may make them more suitable for older adults rather than young adults.

Poor Treatment for Bad Bites

Treatments such as Invisalign are less effective at treating orthodontic problems such as overbites, underbites, and crossbites.
